Update: Back at the end of October, we got out first look at the final clock speeds for Intel's upcoming Kaby Lake desktop processors, alongside early indicators for US pricing for the new Core i7 and Core i5. Since then, some more retailers have begun listing prices, this time in Europe, giving us an idea of what prices to expect in other parts of the world.
The prices here are for the Netherlands specifically and as Guru3D points out, these are apparently the lowest price listings at the moment, appearing on the retailer ‘CentralPoint‘.
- Core i5 7400: € 235
- Core i5 7500:€ 253
- Core i5 7600: € 277
- Core i5 7600K: € 301
- Core i7 7700 : € 386
- Core i7 7700K : € 434
Do keep in mind though that these processors aren't due to go on sale until early 2017, so things could change- especially with AMD's Zen CPUs also set to launch in a similar time frame, which could encourage serious competition in the market.
Original Story: We have been hearing for some time that Intel's next batch of desktop processors would be arriving in Q1 2017, with many signs pointing towards a launch at CES in January. However, we hadn't heard much in the way of pricing or final specifications until now. Last week, Intel sent out a Product Change Notification to its partners detailing the final clock speeds for its upcoming Kaby Lake desktop CPUs.
The notification lists a total of seven Core i5 processors and three Core i7s. However, the reason we believe that this is the final change to Intel's upcoming CPU lineup is that the notice also informs customers that they must be ready to “receive post-conversion material” by the 4th of November, meaning specifications are unlikely to change from that date.
The Intel Core i7 is built on 14nm technology, with the 7700K coming with a base frequency of 4.2GHz. The locked Core i7-7700 will be clocked at 3.6GHz, while the i7-7700T will be clocked at 2.9GHz. Turbo figures are still up in the air but previous reports have pointed to the 7700K boosting all of the way up to 4.5GHz. As far as Intel Core i5 CPUs go, the 7600K clocks in at 3.8GHz, while the locked i5-7600 comes with a 3.5GHz clock speed.
As far as pricing goes, Kaby Lake processors will follow a similar pricing structure to the current batch of Skylake chips on the market. According to wccftech, the Intel Core i7 7700K will launch at the $349 price point, while the locked i7-7700 will come in at $309 in the US. The Intel Core i5 7600K, on the other hand, will launch at $239 with the locked version launching at $219, if this report is to be believed.
The final piece of information to come out this week is that Intel will apparently be launching Kaby Lake for the desktop on the 5th of January, right at the start of CES.

KitGuru Says: While we do have an early idea of what to expect from Kaby Lake in terms of pricing in the US, things could end up being quite different here in the UK as tech prices have been on the rise in the last few months. Are any of you waiting to build a new PC in 2017? Do you think you will pick up a Kaby Lake CPU?
Hmmm Well just gotta see what the new Zen is offering for desktop Cpu to compare~
Seeing intel moving forward with new architecture and moreover, with higher clocks, makes me think that Zen will be good.
I’d say it looks good because AMD isn’t talking about it… They’re just developing the chip… We should hear more about the new interconnect this month at SC16…
Also looking forward to compare Volta and Vega~
LOL. Think again.
Are you being sarcastic? What new architecture? Kabylake is Skylake with minor powersaving tweaks and some +decode for 4k and crap… there is a whole 1% clock/clock improvement…
I’ll be getting one of these for the soul reason that it offers Netflix 4k viewing. Thanks to it’s hdcp 2.2 Tech.
It is said that ZEN could be comparable to broadwell and maybe in some instructions close to skylake which is good. I did not say it will beat any intel K cpus, but still a healthy competition is a good thing for prices. And a fact that intel is releasing a whooping 4.5Ghz stock could mean that they want to stay ahead.
Me sarcastic? No. What I mean is what I mean. Sure, intel has now that new “Process-Architecture-Optimizations” thing, so I was wrong saying “new architecture”, but still “optimizations”, is moving forward which gives them higher clocks. And whatever I wrote it a month ago. And what the heck? This article was modified and popped up with new date.

CentralPoint pricing is wrong. Just checked and it’s the same as current skylake CPU’s or similar

Intel is not afraid of Zen. Otherwise they would make 4+ cores mainstream laready, and they are not doing that. Even worse, Kaby Lake is only 1% faster than Skylake at the same clocks. They just clocked it a bit higher out of the box, and that’s it.
I like soul better.
Oh you mean just how Sean Murray didn’t talk much about NO MANS BUTT, because he was too busy actually working on it? HO HO HO!
That isn’t proof that they are working hard on it. And ZEN IS GOING TO BE…. okay… nothing amazing, but okay… Just something to keep intel prices in check, that’s all AMD is good for now, and has been since core 2 duo came out in what? 2006?
But amd fans are… a special bunch… They often claim their low end 8 core parts are somehow better then intel I5 parts, because WOOOOOHW!!! It has 2x the cores! And look! The MHZ is just as fast or faster!!!
And when you show them benchmarks that show them just how shyte their processor is compared to the intel i5, they claim you got those benchmarks from a biases website. I expect much of the same with ZEN, as we seen with BUTTDOZER and POOPSCAVATOR. AMD fans are UNTRAINABLE!
Confirmation Bias is destroying our world. Have a nice day people of the internets! =D
About as bias as you by the sounds of it
Early benchmark’s suggest zen will be competitive with mid range intel offerings from the last year or 2 ao not as a bad as FX series
It’s been 1 yr since I abandoned my last job and I am so happy now… I started to work from home, for this company I discovered over internet, for several hrs daily, and I profit now much more than i did on my previous work… My paycheck for last month was for $9000… The best thing about this gig is that now i have more time with my kids… SECURE54.COM
