Corsair preps RAM, Coolers and PSUs for Kaby Lake launch

If you have been keeping up with tech news today, then you probably noticed that the official launch of Intel's new Kaby Lake processors and Z270 platform has taken place. This means we can expect several platform changes, which can affect things like CPU coolers, RAM and power supplies. Fortunately, Corsair has been preparing this moment and is offering comprehensive PSU, DRAM and CPU cooler compatibility for Kaby Lake based systems.

For starters, with DDR4, Corsair is committed to ensuring compatibility and that its RAM kits continue to run at their claimed frequencies. All current dual-channel kits are already compatible with Kaby Lake and 200-series chipsets. Meanwhile, Corsair's Hydro Series liquid coolers are already compatible with the LGA 1151 socket, so there is no need to worry about compatibility with new motherboards.

Finally, when it comes to power supplies, Corsair offers one of the widest ranges in the world and thanks to support for the dedicated DC-to-DC power required for Intel's low-power sleep states, Corsair's entire PSU lineup is ready for Z270 and Kaby Lake. This includes PSUs from the top of the line 80 PLUS Titanium AX1500i, to the 80 Plus Bronze CX-M, as well as every CORSAIR AXi, AX, HXi, RMi, RMx, SF, CS and CX-M series PSU.

KitGuru Says: If you are planning on making the jump to Intel's Z270 chipset with a Kaby Lake processor, then you won't need to worry about compatibility should you already have a Corsair All-In-One liquid cooler, or a PSU from some time in the last few years. DDR4 RAM speeds shouldn't be an issue either when making the switch from the sounds of it, which should hopefully ensure a smooth transition for those of you looking to upgrade. KitGuru had a stonkingly successful CES 2024, however there is one small gap in our coverage that needs to be addressed. We gave plenty of coverage to Intel's new Core Ultra range of Meteor Lake laptop processors but appeared to give AMD the cold shoulder, and it is now time to fix that apparent oversight.
