Nintendo's next console, the Switch was announced in the Autumn of 2016 to a pretty positive response. It's looking to combine a portable and home console into one, with a decent sized screen and modular controls. And tomorrow, we get to have a play with it.
Following on from an early morning Tokyo debut event, where we'll learn about the console's launch date, what games will be available when it hits the shelves and what it's capabilities are, KitGuru will be heading into London to have a try for ourselves. We'll be taking pictures, recording video and having a good long play with the console itself.
What games we'll be playing, we have no idea. What type of testing we'll be allowed to do is also rather nebulous right now. What we do know though is that we'll be trying to answer a few questions of our own about the system's capabilities and if you have any questions you want answered, let us know.
Do you care mostly about its mobile abilities? Are you worried it might overheat or be underpowered when in portable mode? Do you want to know how comfortable the controllers are, or whether it can graphically keep up with the Xbox One and PS4?
Let us know and when we writing up our report of the event, we'll do our best to answer them.

KitGuru Says: As much as I'll be going in with my professional hat on tomorrow, if there is a port of Monster Hunter X there to try out, I may only be able to answer questions on that. Full Barroth armour set before I leave is my main goal.
I fairly sure it won’t anywhere near keep up with a ps4 or xbox in graphics
Will probably sit between last gen consoles and current gen ones
I’m sure you’ll do as good a job as possible getting information about the Switch.
One things I’m curious about, but you can’t find out playing with the device, is how easy it is for developers to port Android games to the Switch. There are a lot of PC games which have been ported to Android, from Tegra versions of Half-Life 2, Portal and Borderlands 2 etc., to Shadowrun Returns, Baldur’s Gate EE and The Banner Saga, and many many more, which to me would be welcome on the Switch. If I could have a single portable gaming device, instead of needing multiple devices, that would be great. I find having several consoles hooked to the TV okay, but carrying several mobile devices is less appealing.
As I’m in the market for a new tablet, I wouldn’t mind knowing what kind of capabilities it has. Can we put files on it and play media files, if so, what kind? I haven’t read up too much about it, so it would be interesting to see what can be done outside of gaming.
Apart from that, as you mention in the article already. What’s the controller like, as one piece it looks really big and clumsy, but separate it’s either small or unstable.
Tell me of any poor user experience with lag when undocking to be mobile. Also if you have enough time try to gauge battery life and see how quickly it drains while playing. Perhaps also check how hot it gets.
Thanks 🙂
Not kidding, Can we get lojack for it or another anti theft software?
Would you consider on level with current gen consoles?
1) Latency
2) Graphics
