OCUK partners with Intel, XFX and HTC for VR racing events

Overclockers UK, HTC, XFX, Intel and Next Level Racing, have announced the second round of the VR Racing Series. They want virtual racers from all over the UK to come to OCUK's bespoke events over the next couple of months, to have a virtual try out which could lead to a race in the real world and big prizes.

The contest OCUK is running is to try and find the best virtual reality racing drivers in the UK. The top contestants from each round will compete against each other in the finals later this year. Competitors who take the top six spots at each event, will be invited to the PalmerSport track day at the Bedford Autodome, where they will get to drive real cars around a real track. v

The three best racers from those track days will advance to the final, where racers will compete to become the Overclockers UK Racing Series Champion. While the grand prize hasn't been confirmed, we hear tell it could be a full virtual reality ready PC.

We've already crowned the round one winners. Now OCUK is looking for Round two's.

If you want to be in with a chance of a free track day, or maybe even becoming the top virtual and real racer in the country, you'll need to head to the OCUK store in Manchester before 25th March, or visit its mobile VR rig at one of the following events:

  • Manchester, 11th – 12th February, 9am-5pm, Britannia Suite, Country House Hotel & Spa.
  • Wolverhampton, 25th – 26th February [Further details to be confirmed]
  • Silverstone Circuit, 5th March [Further details to be confirmed]
  • London, Saturday 18th – 19th March [Further details to be confirmed]

KitGuru Says: Do you guys have the racing chops to become the national, OCUK champion? I'm terrible at racing games, but if there are some budding VR racers among you, you should try out – there's going to be some great prizes on offer.
