Samsung Galaxy S8 said to start shipping on April 21st

We have been hearing a lot about the Samsung Galaxy S8 over the last couple of months and while we have known what the phone looks like for a while, a release date has been up in the air. This week though, reports appear to be showing a 21st of April worldwide launch date for Samsung's next flagship, following an announcement in March.

According to sources speaking with ETNews, Samsung will be holding an event in New York on the 29th of March, at which the Galaxy S8 will get its unveiling. The device will then start shipping a few weeks later on the 21st of April.

According to the leaks we have seen so far, the Galaxy S8 is set to be a 5.7-inch smartphone with a near bezel-less display. The Samsung/Qualcomm co-developed Snapdragon 835 SoC will be under the hood along with 4GB of RAM. Aside from the standard Galaxy S8, a Galaxy S8 Plus is also said to be coming, which will replace the higher tier ‘Edge' model from the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S7 generations.

KitGuru Says: There are a lot of people anticipating the Galaxy S8 launch right now, especially since this will be the first release following the Galaxy Note 7 recall. Hopefully this one turns out well. Are any of you looking forward to the Galaxy S8? Will you be upgrading this year?
