Asus has had its hand in esports for a number of years now but it looks like 2017 is the year things get kicked up a notch. Not only is Asus ROG set to be the main sponsor of CS:GO tournament ‘DreamHack Masters' in Las Vegas this month but ROG is now also partnering up with NIP (Ninjas in Pyjamas), the reigning champions of DreamHack Masters.
The Ninjas in Pyjamas organisation houses one of the most successful Counter-Strike: Global Offensive teams as well as professional Overwatch and Dota 2 teams. Speaking about the partnership, Derek Yu, ROG Global Marketing Director had this to say:
“We’re very excited to join forces with NIP and to supply them with the latest ROG gear. ROG products provide the highest levels of performance, quality and stability – they are the ultimate choice of champions. Our cutting-edge ROG products, together with the talented members of the NIP, are a winning combination!”
The DreamHack Masters tournament kicks off today and runs through to the 19th of February. There will be 16 CS:GO teams facing off and competing for $450,000 in cash prizes.
