In recent weeks we have heard a great deal about Microsoft and their alleged plans to adopt a more multi-platform approach with their games. It seems as though one of the first titles to get a PlayStation port is last year’s breakout hit Hi-Fi RUSH – with the latest update adding support for the PS5’s DualSense.
On the 1st anniversary of the game’s launch, the team at Tango Gameworks have released a surprise update to Hi-Fi RUSH. Detailing this update, the team said “Available today, Hi-Fi RUSH Patch 7 includes the Anniversary T-Shirt Bundle containing a batch of cosmetics to shake up Chai’s wardrobe. Enjoy four new shirts PLUS a bonus exclusive shirt based on the platform on which you own Hi-Fi RUSH,”
Alongside this, the team released a full set of patch notes, revealing that as part of the update, Hi-Fi RUSH has gotten “expanded controller support with additional icons for PC”. More specifically, in going in-game you can now select the PlayStation’s icons for button prompts alongside a new option to turn on Adaptive Triggers – a PS5 controller exclusive.
While it is possible that Tango Gameworks updated the game with DualSense support purely for the PC, the fact that they coded in values for the Adaptive Triggers all-but-confirms that a PS5 release is imminent. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long for the announcement.
