Job posting suggests a sequel to ‘The Evil Within’ is on the way

After a couple of years of uncertainty and persistent rumours, it looks like Bethesda is finally getting around to putting together a sequel to The Evil Within. The original game launched back in late 2014 and while there have been a few rumours surrounding a sequel, we didn't have much in the form of concrete evidence until now as this week, the studio behind the game began hiring a bug reporter for the project.

The job listing was initially spotted by the folks over on NeoGAF. However, with this game being developed over in Japan, some translation was needed. The project title on the job application was listed as ‘Psycho Break 2', for those out of the loop, Psycho Break is what The Evil Within was titled in Japan.

The job listing here is for a bug report translator and specifically lists the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 as platforms. However, given that the original game also launched on PC, we'd expect the same thing of the sequel.

If the studio is currently in bug squashing mode, then the project may be further along than expected. With that in mind, there is the possibility that this will be one of Bethesda's E3 announcements in June this year.

KitGuru Says: A sequel to The Evil Within has been up in the air for a long time, so it's nice to finally have some evidence to suggest that it is definitely being worked on. Did any of you play the original Evil Within? Would you like to get your hands on a sequel?
