Retailers are starting to narrow down Red Dead Redemption 2’s release date

It has been around five months since Rockstar officially announced Red Dead Redemption 2 and while there is still a lot we don't know about the game, it appears that things are still on track for a 2017 release. At the time of announcement, Rockstar gave us a ‘Fall 2017' release window but it seems that retailers are not starting to narrow that down with more precise dates.

Earlier this month, Base.com here in the UK put forward a 26th of September release date for Rockstar's latest cowboy adventure. However, since then, Media Market has listed a 3rd of October release date. These could be different dates depending on region but either way, it looks like we can expect Red Dead Redemption 2 some time in late September or early October.

It is important to note that retail leaks aren't always accurate and occasionally, there is no truth to them at all. However, given Rockstar's release window, an October date seems very likely- as long as no delays get in the way.

Either way, we should see more from Rockstar at E3 in June. I would be surprised if Sony and Microsoft weren't saving Rockstar a spot on stage during their own conferences this year.

KitGuru Says: Hopefully Rockstar can stick to its planned Fall release date, though a delay for Red Dead Redemption 2 wouldn't surprise me. Do you guys think Red Dead Redemption 2 will stick to its Fall release date this year? Do you think it will end up slipping past October?
