Speedrunner beats Prey in less than 20 minutes

Prey has only been out for a few days at this point but speed runners are already having a lot of success with it. This week, Speedrunner ‘DraQu' set the speed run record for Prey and then almost instantly broke it again, beating the game in 45 minutes and then cutting his time down to just under 20 minutes.

Both of these runs do rely on glitches, taking advantage of some wall clipping and an unmatched glitch that allows unlimited recycling of crafting components. There is also lots of stacking and Gloo gunning to get into hard to reach areas.

The video obviously contains spoilers for Prey. Over the course of the run, you will see a good chunk of Talos 1 and the enemies/weapons it has to offer. Though the story can be hard to keep up with when your blazing through the game in the same length of time it takes to watch an episode of The Simpsons.

KitGuru Says: I always find speed runs fascinating to watch. I didn't expect to see one for Prey this soon though. Have any of you ever tried your hand at speed running at all? I remember trying to blitz through Super Mario Bros on the gameboy when I was younger but I never had much success with it.

  2. lol How is this considered beating the game? He used glitches and avoided any creatures and basically skipped the whole game. Nope try again dude either play the game or close it and go play minecraft.
