Rumour: AMD to have three RX Vega GPUs available on 5th of June

Those of you who have been holding out for AMD's RX Vega launch may not have to wait much longer. This week, a report based on ‘reliable sources within AMD's HQ' has come out, claiming that the initial paper launch for three RX Vega GPUs will occur during AMD's Computex conference, with availability set to follow on the 5th of June.

The initial report comes from the site ‘Digiworthy‘  (editor's note: we have since learned that this rumour originated from Chinese site Expreview) citing internal sources at AMD. According to the report, there will be three RX Vega GPUs available from the 5th of June with pricing and performance set to compete against the GTX 1070, GTX 1080 and GTX 1080Ti respectively.

The GTX 1070 competitor is said to be called the ‘RX Vega Core' and should carry a price tag of $399. The middle card is known as the RX Vega Eclipse and will cost $499 meanwhile, the RX Vega Nova is a $599 GPU and is said to go up against Nvidia's flagship GTX 1080Ti. Unfortunately outside of that, the report doesn't offer up any additional information.

As with any unverified leak, this information should be treated as rumour and taken with a grain of salt. After all, there isn't much proof to back up the claims being made. That said, it does seem likely that we will finally see Vega launch at Computex.
