Update: Following on from last week's teasing, Ubisoft has released the official announcement trailer for Far Cry 5. This is a cinematic trailer that sets up the story. This time around, Far Cry will be taking place in Montana and will focus on a cult violently taking control of the area.
Far Cry 5 releases on the 27th of February 2018 for PC, Xbox One and PS4. Initially, we thought that Far Cry 5 would make it out to the world in 2017 but that is no longer the case.
Original Story: Last week, Ubisoft gave Far Cry 5 an unceremonious reveal during a quarterly earnings call with investors. However, since we all now know that Far Cry 5 is on the way, Ubisoft has begun teasing its proper reveal with a series of new teaser videos.
All of the videos Ubisoft has released so far are short 30-second teasers but they do confirm that the game takes place in the US state of Montana and there's a bit of a religious cult vibe from what we can see so far.
We are set to get a full trailer this Friday, which will likely be followed by more news at E3 in a couple of weeks time.
KitGuru Says: I've enjoyed all of the Far Cry games so far but I do hope that Ubisoft changes up the formula a bit this time. Are any of you big fans of Far Cry? What would you like to see them do in Far Cry 5?
Wasn’t it always a fictional location/ region in a real country?
Wow. That couldn’t possibly be any dumber. So the first entry in this franchise I won’t be buying.
