While we have already taken a detailed look at many of the new ROG products on show at Computex 2017, today we stopped by their booth for a look at a couple of new motherboards as well to see some pretty spectacular modded projects.
First of all, motherboards. The first thing we saw was the new Maximus IX Extreme Z270 board. This was first announced a couple of months ago, but it was good to get a look at ROG's flagship Z270 board. Most notably, it features a pre-installed monoblock to provide liquid cooling to your CPU, VRM module and even a M.2 drive.
Following on from that, we also got a look at the TUF X299 board, complete with the series' usual protective covers and grey colour scheme. There is also a small fan positioned around the PCH area to provide active cooling to the chipset, something which is certainly unusual.
We also got to look at some ‘powered by ASUS' modded systems, the first being the RAH CL (Cleopatra) system. This is a Ryzen rig, based on the 1800X, while it is built into In Win's D-Frame chassis. The watercooling gear is comprised of Bitspower components.
Lastly, we also got a look at an unnamed Phanteks systems, built in the excellent Enthoo Evolv chassis. This is another Ryzen system but uses the 1700X this time around, while it also sports 2x Strix GTX 1080 Ti graphics cards. All watercooled, of course.
KitGuru says: New motherboards are always exciting but those custom rigs are something else. Anybody else fancy a 1700X/GTX 1080 Ti SLI system? I know I do.
