If any of you are looking to grab a NAS system in 2017 then you may want to keep an eye on the new offerings coming up from Thecus. We had a chance to stop by their booth at Computex this year and got a look at three new NAS models, offering a bunch of new features, ranging from Plex transcoding to 4K playback.
First up we had a chance to see the Thexus N4350 and N2350 , which will launch at $129 and $199 respectively. These particular systems offer Plex transcoding but not output, a single Gigabit ethernet port, a Marvell controller and 1GB of DDR4 Memory. Beyond that, we also saw the N2820PRO, a 2-bay NAS with built-in UPS with around 15 minutes of runtime. It's powered by an Intel Celeron.
Finally, we also saw the N5810Pro, which uses 5 GbE link aggregation and built-in UPS. There are plenty of multimedia options for connectivity, including HDMI. The goal with this NAS is to offer unmatched security for your personal cloud. Finally, if watching 4K ultra-HD content is your goal, the N2810 is the right match.
