Thermaltake introduces Toughfan EX12 Pro and EX14 Pro fans with improved magnetic connections

Thermaltake has recently announced the global availability of the Toughfan EX12/14 Pro cooling fan. The new EX Pro fans feature TT's new Magforce 2.0 Quick Connect design for daisy chaining, as well as swappable fan blades.

The Toughfan EX12 Pro and EX14 Pro come with the new MagForce 2.0 Quick Connect design, which features enhanced pogo pin contact pads to reduce misalignments. This feature lets you easily mount fans using the magnets, reducing cable clutter. The Toughfan EX Pro also features swappable fan blades, so you can opt for normal fan blades or go for reverse airflow. This has the added benefit of being able to easily remove the fan blades for cleaning or replacement.

The Toughfan EX Pro boasts nine extended fan blades for high airflow and static pressure. Capable of reaching fan speeds of up to 2000 RPM, the 120mm model can provide a static pressure of up to 3.19mmH2O and up to 70.8 CFM of airflow with a noise level of 22.6 dBA. At the same 2000 RPM, the 140mm model can provide a static pressure of up to 3.57mmH2O and up to 119.6 CFM of airflow while maintaining a noise level of 31.6 dBA. Note that static pressure and airflow are reduced, and the noise level increases when the fan operates in reverse mode.

The Toughfan EX Pro's square frame design enhances fitting in chassis or on radiators while reducing air leakage. The fan blades are composed of liquid crystal polymer, and since the corners are wrapped with rubber pads, vibrations are reduced while in operation, allowing the Toughfan EX Pro to spin faster while making less noise. The Toughfan EX12 Pro and EX14 Pro fans are available as 3-fan packs.
