Computex: Acer reveals new ultra-thin gaming laptop and UltraWide monitor

Today, Acer has unveiled two new gaming products: the Predator Triton 700 gaming laptop, as well as the Predator Z35P UltraWide QHD monitor. While neither come cheap, both are packed to the rafters with features that will appeal to gamers everywhere.

Starting with the Predator Triton 700, it is a 18.9mm-thick gaming laptop that still packs quite a punch thanks to its use of GTX 1080 graphics and 7th Gen Intel processors. The Triton 700 actually uses Nvidia's Max-Q technology which is one of the reasons that allows Acer to cram such a powerful GPU into such a small chassis.

Elsewhere, the laptop also sports a FHD IPS panel, complete with G-Sync support, alongside Dolby Atoms surround sound and Acer TrueHarmony speakers.

Available in two variants, the GTX 1080 model will cost £2999, while the GTX 1060 model will cost £2299.99.

Moving on to the Predator Z35P, this UltraWide monitor will draw comparisons with the Predator X34 which has been a fan-favourite for a while now. It sports a 35″ curved 3440×1440 VA panel with a 4ms response time and 100Hz refresh-rate. It also sports Nvidia's G-Sync and ULMB (ultra low motion blur) technologies.

Its stand is worth mentioning as it features ergonomic tilt from –4 to +35 degrees, swivel -20 to 20 degrees and adjustable height up to 5 inches. Lastly, the unit also boasts 2x 9W speakers.

The Z35P will be available for £999.99.

KitGuru says: Anyone on the lookout for a new gaming laptop or monitor? The Predator Triton 700 looks like a very powerful but slim laptop, while the Z35P will undoubtedly appeal to the growing UltraWide market.

  1. Where are all the FreeSync monitors?? Been waiting for what seems like years for Vega but it seems like there won’t be any monitors to pair it with

  2. There are two really good ones for you:
If you want a 38″ ultrawide, you can go with the XR382CQK (3840×1600, 75Hz, FreeSync) and if you want a 34″ one – the Acer XR342CK (or better get the previous one – XR341CK) are really good monitors.

  3. What a guy! Much appreciated. If nothing new comes out of Computex then I can safely choose between one of those two, the Philips 328M6FJMB or the AOC AG322QCX.
    16:9 or 21:9..

  4. Go for 21:9. I am not joking. Go for that. It is more expensive, but it’s always better. Plus new games support ultrawides. I am sure you will love it 🙂

  5. Really appreciate it. 21:9 it is 😀

  6. 🙂

  7. Anyone know of a ultrawide 21:9 at 4K (3840×1600) that does GSync? I know LG has such monitors, but they support FreeSync. Anything coming down the road, if not? Why not at this point?
