With the Crash Bandicoot trilogy remake now out in the world and doing incredibly well sales-wise, some fans are hoping that this will spur Activision to revisit the old Spyro games too. Now it seems Spyro may just return after all as a small Spyro-related easter egg has been found in the Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy.
Back when Crash Bandicoot Warped first launched, it came packaged with a hidden demo for Spyro The Dragon. You needed to use a cheat code on the game's main menu in order to access it and it seems that same cheat code is set up in the N.Sane Trilogy too, though it doesn't lead to anything at this point in time. Given that all three of these games were built from the ground up, it seems like an intentional move.
In the video above posted by YouTuber ‘ThornsofSerenity', you can see that once the Spyro demo cheat code is entered on the Crash Bandicoot Warped portion of the main menu, the highlight over the menu options disappears, indicating that the game is recognising the cheat code. This does not happen when inputting the code on the Crash 1 or Crash 2 menus.
It is a tiny easter egg and may not amount to anything but it does seem to be a bit of a nod towards Spyro.
KitGuru Says: A really cool way to announce a Spyro remake/remaster would be to just update the N.Sane trilogy so that the cheat code activates something, whether it be a trailer or a demo. All of that said, with an easter egg as minor as this, we could be in a situation where people are reading into it too much.
Honestly, I would like to see more of the “Legend of Spyro” series. I don’t really care about what people say about that series. It was the best series story-wise to me.
I definitely agree with you
But i would be nice to have the first three games
The cheat code isnt setup, its from the original source that is behind the remaster,in which if u putin the cheat code in warped, you get to play spyro demo. This is no way an easter egg or any hints. Clickbait.
