Computex: Kingston’s first NVMe drive and new HyperX hardware

Earlier today we had a chance to stop by the Kingston and HyperX booth to find out what's going on in the storage, memory and peripheral world. The lineup was pretty strong, with new Kingston M.2 NVMe drives planned for 2017, alongside new super fast DDR4 RAM modules and new peripherals from the HyperX team.

At the booth, we checked out the Kingston M.2, which is based on Toshiba 2D MLC nand and is also Kingston's first NVMe drive. It is geared towards the ‘prosumer' market, so a consumer who may also use their system for what pro workloads. This particular drive uses a Phison 5007 controller and is rated for 2800MB reads and 1600MB write speeds.

On the HyperX side we saw new Predator DDR4 4000MHz RAM in action, intended for the new X299 platform. These use Samsung ICs as they are said to offer better performance overall. Aside from that, HyperX is continuing to expand its presence in the gaming peripheral world, with a new RGB keyboard- the HyperX Alloy Elite.

Aside from that, Kingston had a few security USB drives to show off but there should be more later on in the year as in October, Kingston will be celebrating its 30th anniversary. It is also the 15th anniversary for HyperX.
