Back when Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor launched, one of the hallmark features for the game was the nemesis system. This mechanic will be returning in this year's sequel, Shadow of War. However, to spice things up a bit, those of you who still have your old saves will be able to import your biggest nemesis from the first game into the second one.
Using the Nemesis Forge, Shadow of War players will be able to import their most loyal follower from Shadow of Mordor, as well as their most fierce rival. The Nemesis Forge comes as a separate download on Steam, Xbox One and PS4. Unfortunately for new players, there is no way to simply generate a unique nemesis, you will need to have a save file from the original Shadow of Mordor. You can see the whole thing explained in the video below:
Aside from the Nemesis Forge, the original Shadow of Mordor game is also on sale across PC, Xbox One and PS4, though the sale ends on different dates depending on platform. On PC, the sale ends on the 10th of July, while on Xbox One it ends on the 17th. PS4 owners can grab the original game on the cheap until the 19th of July.
With the game on sale, it gives new players a chance to catch up without spending much. Once you've played the game, you will also be able to take advantage of the Nemesis Forge.
KitGuru Says: I always love it when games let you import old save information to carry certain things over. It was one of the main draws to the original Mass Effect trilogy for me. Are any of you planning on playing Shadow of War this year? What do you think of the Nemesis Forge?
one of my most anticipated games of the year. Put a lot of hours into the shadow of mordor and did keep finding myself coming back to it as I’m very much in limbo at the moment trying to find a game that I can really get my teeth into. As recent releases just have quite done it for me.
