Leaked render of Pixel 2 might showcase its final design

The tentatively named Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 has unsurprisingly seen a string of leaks and rumours in the past couple of months, as Google is gearing up for a full announcement. The latest batch of Pixel renders may have just given us a look at the final design of the LG-made smartphone.

These renders were posted by a relatively obscure blog called MySmartPrice, however it was in partnership with the well-trusted OnLeaks, who has a history of fairly accurate renders. The shots are said to have been created using accurate schematics for the latest and final design of the Pixel 2.

Interestingly, the design bears what seems like an identical resemblance to the leaked images by Android Police, while drawing attention to some new information.

The devices feature less of a bezel than the previous Pixel phones, with no word on whether the company plan to go down the previously rumoured OLED route. The fingerprint scanner remains on the rear of the smartphone, and while opting not to follow the recent craze of dual cameras, the lens does seem significantly bigger than that of previous models. One of the most significant observations in these new images is the lack of headphone port, which is a shift away from the first Pixel.

There is no way to currently confirm this information until Google fully reveal its next flagship, which many are expecting to happen around October. So far, the Pixel 2 is speculated to be the first to sport Qualcomm’s new chipset, the Snapdragon 836 and hit the market with the upcoming Android 8.0.

KitGuru Says: I am keeping quite a close eye on the next lot of Google phones after such a good experience with the Pixel XL. It’s worth remembering that these are just rumours at this point, though. When is your next upgrade due? Do you plan on looking into the Pixel 2 when it’s officially announced?
