GTA 6 mo-cap rumours are false according to the actor

With the massive success of Grand Theft Auto V, it is no surprise that Rockstar likely has plans laid out for the future of its best-selling series. While no firm evidence has cropped up for the existence of GTA 6 just yet, the rumour mill keeps on spinning, this time suggesting that a GTA V actor has worked on the inevitable sequel.

This rumour has arisen alongside a resume that popped up on Breakdown Express, a website that specialises in assisting actors through the casting process. The resume detailed of motion capture work done on the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA 6, posted under the name of Tim Neff. Neff is an actor who is known for his motion capture work on the first Red Dead Redemption and most recently, GTA V, so no doubt many fans have already gotten their hopes up.

Contain yourselves, though, as Neff has responded to many excited fans looking for clarification on Twitter, stating that the entire page is fake and that someone is trolling both them and him. Since the onslaught of questions from fans, the Breakdown Express listing has changed both listings to their predecessors. Further prompting disbelief that the sequel is officially under way is that motion capture work usually takes place a good way into the production schedule. There are exceptions but it’s unlikely that such a high profile game would see no leaks if development was so far along.

Currently, Rockstar are focused on the development of the very real Red Dead Redemption 2 as well as continuing support for the ever popular GTA Online. Before his departure, former Rockstar president Leslie Benzies told Develop that the company had “45 years worth of ideas [they] want to do” with GTA, meaning that however long a sequel takes to arrive, the series is likely far from over.

KitGuru Says: As much of a success as GTA V is, the post-story single player content has been rather disappointing. I can only hope that this is because of its shift in scope to help further new projects like Read Dead Redemption 2. What would you like to see in GTA 6? In the meantime, are you excited for RDR2?
