Samsung exec confirms August launch for Note 8, new images appear online

The long wait for the Galaxy Note 8 is coming to an end and with the launch so close, more leaks are popping up online. We saw the first image leaks for the Note 8 earlier this month and this week, that is followed up with new renders, showing the final design for the Galaxy Note 8. Aside from that, Samsung's head of mobile has reportedly confirmed that the Note 8 will be announced in August.

The head of Samsung’s mobile division, Dongjin Koh has reportedly said that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will launch at the end of August. The comments were made to ePrice and match previous rumours of an August release date. The first wave of devices will launch after the event in early September and while the first lot of countries have yet to be announced, the Note 8 will reach the rest of the world by October.

If this announcement is to be believed then the leaked images, legitimacy depending, will most certainly be the final design. Mobile leaker, Ice Universe is usually accurate but there is no way to verify if this is a solid representation of what the Note 8 will be shipped out like.

The design does match all that we have heard about the Note 8 so far, including the Infinity Display with slim bezel design and the return of the scrubbed-off Home button. It is already looking more attractive than the Note 7, but more importantly Samsung seem to be taking extra care after the disaster that followed the previous device.

While the pricing of the device will likely come to light during the impending announcement, it is worth noting that the phablet is expected to cost a pretty penny.

KitGuru Says: Do you trust Samsung enough to jump back into the Note brand? Personally, I would wait and see how these devices fair on mass production before I pick one up, but I feel that is sound advice for most things technology.
