OnePlus 5 images leaked, confirms a 3.5mm headphone jack

The upcoming OnePlus 5 smartphone has been getting a lot of attention ahead of its June 20th reveal thanks to a steady stream of leaks. This time we are treated to a closer look at the phone as a flood of new images have surfaced online.

The images show off the unibody design with its rear-facing dual camera and physical home button. The design shares a lot with that of the iPhone 7, but confirms the OnePlus 5 will come with a USB-C port, now standard for newer Android phones and retain the 3.5mm headphone jack. You can see the leaked images below courtesy of CaseFanatic:

We already know that the smartphone will launch with a Snapdragon 835 processor, but the tech site claims to have a full rundown on the remaining specifications. If true, we can expect the OnePlus 5 to launch with a 5.5 inch 1080p display, Bluetooth 5.0, LTE Cat 12 support and a 3,300mAh battery with Dash Charge Support. It is said to come in different models with either 6GB or 8GB Ram and 64GB or 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage space, with a selection of grey, gold or black colours.

The dual camera is said to combine 20MP and 16MP sensors which we know for certain will be DxOMark-certified. With a lot of attention placed on the camera, OnePlus might even include a telephoto lens as seen on the recent iPhone 7 Plus.

KitGuru Says: That’s a lot of high end specs packed into what OnePlus claims will launch as the “thinnest flagship phone”. How much would you pay for a device filled with this hardware?

  1. Sounding more and more like my next phone. My Moto X Style has served me well since release but nothing has been able to replace it since.

    All I want is:
    * Big battery
    * Fast charging
    * Headphone jack
    * MicroSD slot
    * Front-facing speakers
    * Decent shooter
    * 5.5″ – 5.7″ display
    * Speedy updates

    Surely not too much to ask?

    My Moto X had all of these but it never received an update passed Android 6.0.

    it looks like it will have everything you listed except a big battery (3300mAh – though it depends on your definition of ‘big’), front facing speakers and MicroSD slot (unless they decide to use the second SIM slot as a MicroSD reader too)

    Is it me or is the 3.5mm socket on a different side in different pictures?

  4. Moto G5 Plus meets all but screen size requirement ( 5.2″ ).
    The battery lasts me 11 hours for continuous usage test. Heavy usage ( Addict ) : Slightly more than one day;and Normal use with everything on ( Wifi, Bluetooth , data ) : 2 days.
    50% Charge in 15 mins, 10% in less than two minutes ( Enough for going out for 6 hours ).
    Headphone jack & microsd slot with 2 sim slots ( Not hybrid sim ).
    Front facing speakers are really useful.
    Amazing front camera. Good rear camera for lit areas, Average for dark areas.
    5.2″ really high quality display.
    Latest Android, lots of optimisation ( Like Apple ), amazing new features.

  5. That would have been a good shout if not for the fact that it’s a Motorola. I had major issues with their technical customer service and swore I’d never buy another Motorola again.

    Essentially, it was just a routine repair but they mishandled the phone, so it came back with dents that they refused to acknowledge. On top of that, they hard-wiped it meaning I lost my personal greeting that I set when I ordered and personalised the phone from the Moto maker website. They said this wouldn’t happen then when it did, they wanted nothing to do with it.

    It’s a shame because they make good phones, but my Moto X Style is the last one I’ll own.

  6. More concessions than I’d like but there aren’t any better options
