One of the things that made Just Cause 2 such a good PC game was undoubtedly the multiplayer mod. While the creator of the JC2-MP mod did initially begin working on a similar mod for Just Cause 3, he ended up dropping it to go and work at Avalanche Studios full time instead. Fortunately, another modder out there picked up the torch and now, the Just Cause 3 Multiplayer Mod is almost ready to leave beta and launch on Steam.
The Just Cause 3 multiplayer mod is being developed by Nanos GbR, a fan group that has had a beta version running for a few months now. Now, enough bugs have been squashed to warrant a release on Steam, just like the original Just Cause 2 multiplayer mod.
The multiplayer mod will allow Just Cause 3 players to host their own game modes. Users will also be able to support hundreds of players per server. As you would expect, all the usual destruction will still occur in-game, though this time you can go about causing havoc with a group, rather than on your own.
The Just Cause 3 multiplayer mod launches on the 20th of July. It will be available directly through Steam. You can check out the launch trailer above.
KitGuru Says: Just Cause 2 multiplayer was great fun, so hopefully that carries over to Just Cause 3 this year. Will any of you be revisiting Just Cause 3 now that multiplayer is available?
