AOC’s Porsche designed monitors finally hit retail

Back in April, AOC launched a new range of monitors designed in collaboration with the same team behind Porsche. We have already had the chance to review one of these monitors, praising the design but we weren't the only ones to be impressed, the judges at Computex also gave this monitor a design and innovation award. Now, after a few months of waiting, these monitors are finally hitting retail.

These two particular monitors aren't aimed at gamers, or even professionals/prosumers. Instead, these monitors are simply aimed at those who appreciate design and craftsmanship. AOC teamed up with Studio F.A Porsche to create the PDS series, using a 3-side frameless IPS panel, an asymmetrical metal stand and an external box for wire connections to help stay true to the minimalistic look.

There are two monitors in the PDS series, the 24″ AOC PDS241 and the 27″ AOC PDS271. Here is the spec/feature list:

  • Screen Technology: AH-IPS.
  • Sizes Available: 24” and 27”.
  • Resolution: 1920×1080.
  • Viewing Angle: 178 degrees.
  • Response Time: 4ms.
  • Refresh Rate: 60Hz.
  • Colour Matching: 100% sRGB and 90% of the NTSC Colour Space.
  • Ergonomics: AOC Low Blue Light and Flicker-Free Technologies.
  • Connectivity: HDMI.

Both of these monitors are now available at retail, with an MSRP of £189 for the PDS241 model and £259 for the PDS271.

KitGuru Says: These monitors certainly look unique and stand out from a design standpoint, but judging by the specs, it is clear these aren't intended for PC enthusiasts.
