Following a fantastic round of showings at E3 2015 and 2016, Sony's 2017 E3 conference seemed somewhat lacking in new reveals. It turns out that there is a reason for that on Sony's end, as Sony's Shuhei Yoshida has confirmed that some planned reveals were held back for various reasons.
Speaking in an interview with JagatPlay, Sony Worldwide Studios head, Shuhei Yoshida explained that Sony did hold a few showings back: “There are things we have held; things we chose not to show during this E3. Of course, there will be some more news coming out from our teams later this year.”
This likely means that Sony will be showing more at the PlayStation Experience event in December. One particularly glaring omission from E3 this year was the reveal of the new game coming from Suckerpunch, the same studio behind Infamous and Sly Cooper. Aside from that, many fans were hoping to get a glimpse of The Last of Us II, though that game is still some ways off from releasing.
KitGuru Says: Given how light Sony's E3 was on new games this year, hearing that some games were held back makes a lot of sense. Still, it does help build excitement for PSX later in the year.
Hold on, anyone could say that after a lackluster E3. Oh yeah we deliberately decided to disappoint you because you know that’s what businesses do to customers. I’m a car company selling a range of cars but instead of showing you the top of the range model with leather seats we are only going to show you the 3 cylinder model in poop brown. I think it was just a pretty strong E3 and they showed up under prepared. Shit happens.
