For more than a decade now, Humble has offered a new way to purchase PC games, letting you acquire ‘bundles’ of related titles for heavily discounted prices – with a portion of the proceedings going to different charities. Since its founding in 2010, the company has raised an impressive amount for charity – having now officially hit $250 million in donations.
Announcing this milestone on their blog, the team at Humble said: “We want to kick off 2024 with a sincere and heartfelt thank you. This year, we are proud (and humbled!) to announce a remarkable milestone: together we have raised over $250 million for charity! That’s a quarter of a billion dollars!”
Alongside this milestone, the team also shared their stats from 2023, revealing that last year the company raised over $14.4 million across 7,500 different charities – helping to provide nearly 5 million meals; planting almost half a million trees; and offsetting more than 68 million pounds of CO2 emissions – to name some of its positive effects.
While certainly an impressive and celebration-worthy moment, it is worth noting that Humble has over time reduced the maximum amount of money going to charities, with customers no longer being able to donate 100% of the proceedings. Still, $250 million is a massive amount of money.
