Thermaltake unleashes trio of new tempered glass PC cases

This week, Thermaltake has launched a trio of new Tempered Glass edition cases. The new Supressor F, Core V71 full tower and Core V51 mid-tower now all come in tempered glass versions, featuring a 4mm thick window, a GPU riser support bracket and full capacity/expandability for custom watercooling.

Tempered glass has become a popular trend amongst enthusiast PC builders lately and it's easy to see why. Thermaltake's new Tempered Glass series comes in three flavours so let's start at the top with the Core V71 full-tower chassis.

The Core V71 comes with a 4mm thick tempered glass window to ensure durability. Internally, Thermaltake has implemented removable drive bays, which can hold eight 3.5″ or 2.5″ drives, alongside two 5.25″ devices. You can fit in any motherboard up to standard E-ATX in size, a PSU up to 220mm in length and GPUs up to 480mm in length (without the HDD cage) and a CPU cooler up to 185mm in height. There is a GPU riser to help eliminate GPU sag and keep additional strain off the motherboard. Finally, the case comes with three fans as standard and room for a 420mm radiator.

The Core V51 is the mid-tower of the bunch. It has most of the same features as the V71 however, the drive cage only supports five 3.5″/2.5″ drives and two 5.25″ devices. E-ATX motherboards are still supported, along with CPU coolers up to 185mm in height, GPUs up to 480mm in length without the HDD rack. The V51 doesn't support extra long power supplies, but there is still a GPU riser to help fight graphics card sag. Up to one 420mm radiator is still supported, alongside up to three 140mm case fans. The case itself comes with three 120mm case fans by default.

Finally, the Suppressor F51 is also getting a tempered glass edition. This is another mid-tower case but offers a slightly different feature set. For starters, this case supports up to six 3.5″/2.5″ drives in addition to two 5.25″ devices. E-ATX motherboards are once again supported alongside CPU coolers up to 185mm in height. It supports graphics cards up to 465mm in length with the HDD rack removed, the GPU riser makes a return in this case. For cooling support, you can fit up to two 200mm case fans or one 420mm radiator. There is one 200mm fan in the front and a 140mm in the rear by default.

Unfortunately we are still awaiting confirmation on pricing and availability for the Tempered Glass series but we shall update when we find out.
