PUBG issues hotfix and breaks 500,000 concurrent players

Yesterday’s big update brought a little more to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds than it bargained for, with many players experiencing game-breaking lag. Luckily the team has acted fast and has managed to issue a hotfix just 24 hours after the update went live.

Players enthusiastically logged onto the game yesterday to be met with a plethora of problems including painful server lag, delays in connection and issues plaguing audio and the newly implemented first-person servers.

The official PUBG Twitter page was quick to let the fan base know that the problem was under control and managed to issue a hotfix earlier today.

Since the hotfix was pushed out, Battlegrounds has managed to break past the 500,000 concurrent player count which is staggering for a game still in Early Access. This isn’t the first time that PUBG has beaten Counter-Strike: Global Offensive as it took the number 2 spot last month and just this week managed to become the most played non-Valve title on Steam ever, taking the spot from Fallout 4.

KitGuru Says: Bluehole has continuously impressed me with its response time and care for its fans. It’s no surprise that PUBG is able to take away so many astounding feats so early on in its life. Were you one of the hundreds of thousands playing today? How are you finding the new update, now that it’s playable?

  1. Oh the Lag……….game is still pants on low end systems. Doesn’t like AMD too much either.
Why is the 980 TI so far behind the 1080 in performance? Difference is night and day.
    Riddle me that.
Nvidia not optimizing? Is it blue hole? Or is it both?
