GeForce Driver update preps for Destiny 2 beta and more

Over the next few days not only will we be seeing the final launch of Ark: Survival Evolved but the Destiny 2 PC beta will also be kicking off. As a result, there is a new ‘Game Ready’ driver in town, ready to prepare Nvidia GPU owners with driver optimisations for these games.

The latest GeForce 385.41 WHQL driver comes with official support for the Destiny 2 PC beta, which launches on the 28th of August. This will be the Destiny franchise’s first time on PC, so Bungie needs to make its first impression count. Aside from Destiny 2, SLI is getting some love with this new driver, as SLI profiles are being added for ARK: Survival Evolved, Destiny 2, Faith and Danshant, Secret World Legends, Starpoint Gemini Warlords and finally, Lawbreakers.

If you happen to be a fan of Nvidia’s Ansel screenshot tool, then soon you will be able to use it within PlayerUnknown Battlegrounds and PES 2018. If you want your GPU to run quieter during gameplay, then WhisperMode profiles are being added for Destiny 2 and F1 2017.

Finally, if you are playing Lawbreakers of Quantum Break, this driver should fix an issue causing sharp frame rate drops when running a GTX 970.

KitGuru Says: I’m looking forward to jumping in to the Destiny 2 beta myself, though I’m one of the few that has overlooked the problems with the original Destiny. What gaming plans do you have for the weekend?

  1. I bit the bullet, my gaming plans this weekend involve my new 31.5″ 1440p curved 144hz monitor that’ll allow my GTX1080 to stretch it’s legs. I weighed up the pros and cons of Gsync and after trying it out I personally don’t see an extra £250 of value. http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/computing/pc-monitors/pc-monitors/aoc-ag322qcx-quad-hd-31-5-curved-led-monitor-black-10165270-pdt.html The monitor is here, it has really thorough and good reviews available online and I was grinning all night. The guy in store knocked an extra 10% off too. £440…..Chicken Dinner?.

  2. Oh, yay! i have two setups ready for Destiny 2, one of X3 Gigabyte 1080ti’s in SLI, the other of a single Zotac Amp Extreme 1080ti, cant wait to try both setups out, been waiting forever and Battle.net has been teasing with it being in the app for a bit now! 😀
