A few months ago, we learned that Middle-earth: Shadow of War will let you carry over your old nemesis, bringing them into the sequel’s greatly expanded Nemesis System. The new Orc Tales Trailer gives a look into how this expanded system will work, showing that enemies will seemingly be influenced by the player’s actions.
Whether you make your way through the game in a merciful or brutal manner, one of the aims in the game is to recruit an army of Orcs to help you lay waste to Sauron’s dark forces. While many can be tamed and convinced that following the “Bright Lord” is a better path, many will remain loyal to Sauron simply because you decided to look at them the wrong way.
This helps “fuel the dynamics of society and conflict within Mordor,” as every encounter, both past and present will carry a weigh in the Ranger’s world. Your choice to spare or scar an enemy will eventually result in your ability to recruit them or mark them for death, adding a new angle to Monolith Production’s Nemesis System, previously introduced in Shadow of Mordor.
If this trailer doesn’t have you interested, maybe the official music video for Fires of War will, backed by a dramatic track composed by Nathan Grigg and Kelli Schaefer. Middle-earth: Shadow of War will be out on October 10th for PC, PS4 and Xbox consoles.
KitGuru Says: With each trailer, I am more intrigued by what the game has to offer. I know many of you will be put off by the introduction of microtransactions, but with how expansive Monolith is teasing the Nemesis System to be, they might fit neatly into the game. Will you be picking up Shadow of War?
