Bethesda may soon reveal new Starfield content

There has been some movement on the backend of Steam, pointing towards the testing of new content for Starfield. Bethesda's developers have been busy with a new “unknown app” that is being actively updated.

The immediate speculation here is that this could be the long-announced ‘Shattered Space' DLC for the game, which would contain new story content for fans to explore. However, it is worth noting that Bethesda has made no promises for the release date for this DLC. However, it has previously promised other exciting updates for ‘early 2024'.

Last year, Bethesda announced plans to release the official Starfield mod kit in early 2024. This unknown app now appearing on Steam's backend could well be this, and not the upcoming Shattered Space DLC.

Personally, I am leaning more towards this being testing for the mod tools, rather than new content, but I would also love to be wrong as I would like to jump back into Starfield to continue my New Game+ journey.

KitGuru Says: If this is mod tools, then that will also be fantastic news. While a lot of mods have already been made for the game, the release of the mod kit should enable more in-depth mods, in a similar fashion to all other Bethesda Game Studios' RPGs.
