  1. RAID 0’d SSD’s on multiple laptops. Previous machine had 3 x 128GB SATA SSD’s as boot drive with no issues. Present machine has 2 x 500GB Samsung EVO 960’s in RAID 0 with no issues. CPU is I7-6820HK and there is a throughput limit of ~3,500MB/s so RAIDing on this chipset only sees a benefit in write speeds.

  2. It is irrelevant if you should trust Raid 0 with your data, why? Because regardless of using raid or not you should always have a full backup on a physically separate device.

  3. Just out of curiosity – how would an insurer treat a claim for theft of contents (or building damage) if the event happened while an Amazon Key was enabled?

  5. Ah yes, the elephant in the room. Intel’s native nvme ports are illusory re raid.

  8. I personally use RAID 0 on an AMD Threadripper with 3x Samsung PRO 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD’s as my boot (or C:) drive. It’s a new build, and I’ve not had any problems.

    You dont even need an adapter on many TR moboS. They have 3x native ports.

    The less well heeled could make an amazing 750GB array using 3x 256GB Evo nvme ssdS – ~$140usd ea.

    Storage with the bandwidth of an 8 lane gpu or ddr3 1800 clock ram.

    with a vega gpu, or indeed windows, you can extend memory using this fast storage.
