Ninja Theory to donate proceeds of Hellblade to charity

We've seen a lot of charitable efforts lately, with one of the most notable being Special Effect's effort to get many developers donating the profits of their games for a day in the name of helping others. Developer Ninja Theory is taking note, donating all proceeds from the sales of its Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice during October 10th to UK mental health charity Rethink.

The donation is being made in light of World Mental Health Day, a particular date singled out in the year that is dedicated to raising awareness of mental health issues in the workplace. The primary theme of Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is mental health, told from the perspective of the main character Senua, who struggles with psychosis after being traumatised by the horrors around her.

Alongside the announcement of its charitable effort, Ninja Theory released a new Hellblade trailer that showcases some of the hundreds of messages that fans have sent in regarding their own mental health and how the game has affected them. For some, Hellblade has provided an understanding of the difficulties in which those suffer and displayed it in an accessible way for those that don't.

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is available for PlayStation 4 and PC, with Steam pricing it at £24.99.
