G.Skill seems to be going after every ‘world’s fastest’ title it can, this time pushing the boundaries of its DDR4 Ripjaw SO-DIMM memory. Coming in at 3800MHz, its new 32GB set manages to take the title of world’s fastest small outline dual in-line memory kit built for small-form factor setups.
The new 3800MHz 32GB kit spans 8GB-SO-DIMM modules across four slots, timed at CL18-18-18-38 at 1.35V. While the Ripjaw moniker doesn’t hold as much weight as its flagship Trident Z models, it is still built from the same “ultra-high performance Samsung B-die DDR4 ICs” as its counterpart, blurring the lines of performance between the two.
The test screenshots provided to use were conducted on an ASRock X299E-ITX/ac motherboard paired with an Intel Core i9-7900X CPU.

Of course, this isn’t the only kit that G.Skill has updated in its Ripjaw SO-DIMM memory line, also offering another 32GB (4x8GB) version at a slower DDR4-3600 MHz, alongside a 64GB (4x16GB) set and 32GB (4x8GB)kit both capped at DDR4-3200. All of these kits run at 16-16-16-36 at the same voltage.
G.Skill isn’t the only company out there making a push on its small-form factor offerings lately, with ASUS launching a new motherboard and MSI dabbling in a full fanless setup. G.Skill’s new Ripjaw SO-DIMM modules will be available in December with pricing to be confirmed.
KitGuru Says: It’s impressive how G.Skill keeps sweeping these record breaking speeds across most of its latest kits. Unfortunately, I am not sure how much gaming capability that these new kits hold as small-form factor PCs will often struggle to house the graphical performance to keep up, but there are some builds that could balance both. Otherwise, these would be great for business and editing based builds. Do you sport small-form factor?
wtfffff so-dimm with a desktop cpu? unless the mobo in mini itx is made to purposely take laptop memory i find it hard to believe.
