Vampire Survivors is coming to PS5 alongside Contra crossover

Back in 2022, Vampire Survivors launched on PC to a wave of success, spawning a new sub-genre in the form of the semi-idle reverse bullet-hell. Since then, the game has found its way onto pretty much every platform, from the Xbox to Switch and even mobile. The one system which had been left out of the fun was PlayStation…until now,

Announced during the ‘Triple-i Initiative’ indie showcase, Vampire Survivors is set to finally drop onto PlayStation 4 and 5 “this Summer”. Since its release, the game has received an abundance of updates, adding new characters, stages, weapons and a lot more.

Stating the reason for the game’s relatively late launch on PlayStation, the team said “We're doing the ports ourselves just like the others, so we took our sweet time to get here, but in this way we can keep the low price and the parity of content, so it's better in the long term. We're doing a port for PS4 and another for PS5.”

Alongside the PlayStation release, studio Poncle also revealed that Vampire Survivors will be crossing over with the classic Konami franchise Contra. Arriving on the 9th of May (and coming later to PlayStation), Operation Guns is the 2nd major piece of crossover DLC, adding nearly a dozen new characters; 22 new weapons with a focus on guns; 1 large map and 1 bonus map; 19 songs from the Contra franchise and last but not least “An explosively silly 6-chapters Adventure.”

As with all of Vampire Survivor’s DLC, Operation Guns will cost just £1.99 – continuing to prove Vampire Survivors as being one of the best bang for your buck games out there.
