Detroit: Become Human is the latest game from French studio Quantic Dream. Released back in 2018 for PS4 (and PC one year later), the story-focused title saw a mixed reception, with many loving it and others not so much. Despite this, the game has gone on to be a big success for the studio, having now officially sold over 10 million copies.
Making the announcement on Twitter, Guillaume de Fondaumière – the CEO of Quantic Dream – shared the following message:
“The entire [Quantic Dream] team is joining me to proudly announce that [Detroit: Become Human] has now sold in excess of 10 million (paid) units on [PlayStation] and PC. We are extremely grateful to each and everyone out there who played the game. You mean the world to us and we couldn't have achieved this incredible milestone without every single one of you!”
Back in December of last year the team announced that Detroit: Become Human had surpassed 9 million copies – meaning it only took around 9 months or so to sell a further million.
Given the fact that we have not had a new game from Quantic Dream since 2018’s Detroit: Become Human, perhaps it is for the best that the game has continued to sell well more than 6 years on from release.
