PUBG’s latest update is causing performance issues

It looks like the latest update for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds isn't sitting well with players, as numerous complaints have come in. It seems that after the latest update, frame rates have taken a dive, particularly when trying to loot, or when opening and closing the map.

Complaints first started appearing on Twitter and Reddit last night. Currently, the PUBG subreddit has a megathread for users to report various performance issues. Many are reporting huge frame rate drops when looting, as well as crashes. These issues seem to be affecting everyone regardless of hardware, though the exact frames per second hit differs.

Over on Twitter, PUBG's marketing manager, Sammie Kang, acknowledged the issue and said that an investigation will take place. In the meantime, some Nvidia GPU users have found that rolling back their driver version can help, though others have had mixed success.

Now we just need to wait for the PUBG devs to get to the bottom of this.

KitGuru Says: The performance issues brought on in the latest patch seem pretty major. Have any of you played PUBG since the latest update? Have you been encountering performance problems?

  1. I was getting it post nvidia driver update last week, I think that and the new PUBG update hasnt helped anyone. I normally get a steady 50-60 fps on the 1050ti but its become unplayable as of late which sucks as its a good game for a laugh!

  2. 50-60 on a 1050TI? Wow.

  3. Tell me, what else happened in this dream of yours when you were getting 50-60 FPS on PUBG? I’m assuming you were playing on Ultra too, right?

  4. The issue seems to be the new anti-cheat system in the game, I had to roll it down to less than 1080p to play decently again.

  5. y not 50-60 on a 1050ti?

  6. i have i7-6700 and gtx1080 ,monitor agon aoc AG27QG 165hz
and have big problems with optimizacion please dont make it new update 1st repair game plase !

I stopped playing about a month ago after discovering Fortnite and it’s battle Royale mode. It’s free and doing a far better job of it!

Pubg will likely always be a hot mess just because of how it was made. It’s not optimised or ever going to be if they just keep throwing a shit ton of assets into a huge map without tweaking it. Hell, character models have a ridiculous level of detail INSIDE their head that is unnecessary!

  8. I bought this game just for the fun of it. Played it twice, never again. Too many bugs and cheaters from Asia.

  9. I used to get 60-100 with my 1050ti, ryzen 3 @3.7ghz and 8gb ram @2933. Had all details very low though except view distance that was on ultra. But lately it seems that i cant even get a steady 60fps, framerate is jumping arround as hell.

  10. You are not good enough?

  11. Good enough for what? If you don’t play a game you are not good enough ?
    Hahahaha !

  12. that’s unfortunate. I’m still having fun playing this game with my friends. Rarely seeing cheaters while playing though, but it’s true there’s a lot of cheaters especially from China

  13. or maybe you cant play the game properly

  14. thanks a lot you mentioned china, not asia
from last month no matter which server i play in squads on auto fill, am only getting players from china in my team, and who the fk can speak chinese!!

When i play pubg test server it plays way better. The frame-rate is not as choppy and everything except for server lag(rubber banding) is ok. I know its not me because other games don’t get this rubber banding. I wonder if I stop streaming will it stop rubber banding. a CPU issue I have plenty of upload speed and download speed. I usually stream and never have lag.

  16. I play on very low and get 50 – 55 FPS with dips to 30 fps if there is a lot of action in one area. I play on an i5 3470 and GTX 1050ti no problem….just waiting for an SSD to improve load in times.

  17. On booting up PUBG and H1Z1 I get a BSOD stating “BEDaisy.sys”. Every other game works perfectly. Win 10, i7 7700k GTX1080ti SLI, 32gb Ram. How do I fix this?

  18. PUBG is still in testing and in ANY beta there will be teething problems , the 1.0 patch on the test servers has all but cured the lag/server optimisations problems and with the upcoming new maps everything is looking good . How someone can diss a game that isn’t in a finished state yet is beyond me , I’ve been a alpha/beta tester for several games and haven’t seen many that were perfect before final release .

  19. I have an i7 4770k and an original gtx titan paired with 8gb of 1866mhz ddr3 corsair vengeance ram . I regularly get between 70 -100 fps with all settings on medium and also after some you tubeing have made some tweaks which have reduced the lag / optimisation problems .

So have I, as a YouTuber I’ve been part of many things before release. None claiming to be ready for Esports at this stage. Other than Siege, which is aids

  21. I got a 30%-40% performance drop

  22. Because the game is not optimized and the 1050ti is not a high end card. Shit man, my i7 4770k, (OC’d) 12 Gig DDR3 15962 MHz RAM and a gigabyte 1070 can hold a stable 60 at ultra.
