Now that IO Interactive has parted ways with Square Enix and gone independent, the studio has wasted no time getting back to work on its most famous IP, Hitman. Not only has the studio been working on additional content for last year's Hitman game, but a sequel is now also in the works.
This week, Hitman Game of the Year Edition launched, featuring four new campaign missions, new weapons, suits, challenges and new elusive targets. But now, it is time for IO Interactive to look to the future.
In a new message posted to the IO Interactive website, CEO, Hakan Abrak, confirmed that the studio had been keeping “intentionally quiet” since transforming into an independent studio. Abrak then went on to say that the studio is “making great progress” on their next Hitman game, which will have “exciting new features and some franchise firsts”.
IO isn't sharing many details just yet, but we should start to hear more about the next Hitman game in 2018.
KitGuru Says: I'm glad to see IO Interactive is back on its feet and continuing to build on its Hitman legacy. What did you guys think of the most recent Hitman game? Will you be looking forward to the sequel?
