PUBG’s 4.7GB patch fixes some visual & performance issues on Xbox One

Since its release for Xbox One, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has experienced numerous issues, including frame drops, textures not loading and plenty of glitches to go around. Today, PUBG Corp. has issues its first patch, and sitting at 4.7GB, it contains plenty of fixes.

“We are glad players are enjoying PUBG in Xbox Game Preview and we appreciate all of the great feedback we've received,” explained PUBG community coordinator PUBG_Hawkinz in a forum post. “We take listening and reacting to our player base seriously, and we will work with our community to find opportunity to continually improve the player experience while in XGP and beyond.”

Being in the Xbox Game Preview stage is the equivalent to Early Access, so of course these fixes won’t be the end of all problems within PUBG, but players across both the Xbox One and Xbox One X are expected to see developments visually and in performance due to the “first pass” improvements.

A number of bugs seems to have been quashed by the team, including nametags not showing properly in the lobby, animations when crouching, prone, clipping issues when leaning into obstructions and perhaps the best fix, chat will now continue to function as normal, even when the Squad leader leaves the party.

As for developments on gameplay, players will now be able to use gas on a variety of motorbikes, icons show persistently on the HUD, button prompts will not be displayed when actions are present and the hair colour options have been tweaked for a better experience.

KitGuru Says: It’s only a small start despite the relatively sizeable nature of the update, but it bodes well that the team are hard at work on the new platform. Meanwhile, the other portion of the team is gearing up for PC’s full release tomorrow. Are you happy with how both versions of PUBG have been developed?
