HEX release Star Wars themed iPhone cases

It’s unsurprising that Disney wants to get the most out of its Star Wars IP in the run up to its latest blockbuster, Episode VIII: The Last Jedi. We’ve already seen Nvidia clad its Titan GPUs with Jedi and Sith casing, and now the theme has made its way to HEX designed smartphone cases.

We wouldn’t normally write about smartphone cases, but given the astounding repair costs of the iPhone X, we thought that users would want the force to be strong with their expensive handset. So without further ado, meet HEX’ leather cases debossed with designs of classic Star Wars characters, such as Darth Vader, Boba Fett and R2D2 as well as some available in themed colour schemes.

“We grew up on Star Wars,” says Dan Maravilla, Co-Founder. “It’s been amazing getting to work the team at Disney and we couldn’t be happier with the results of our design efforts.”

The cases come in three styles, the Snap Case, the Wallet and the Zipper Wallet, all of which can house the iPhone 7, 8, their Plus models and the brand new iPhone X.

The Snap Case designs are a hard back case with a cut-out for the camera, costing $49.95 for the iPhone 7, 8 and X, with the price jumping up to %59.95 for the larger Plus sizes. The Wallet cases flip over and are help in place by a stretchy band, giving room to place easy-to-access cards in the left hand slots. This comes in at $59.95 for the standard-sized iPhones and $69.95 for the larger 7 & 8 Plus. The Zipper Wallet style comes in at the same price, while adding an extra secure zip to lock things down tighter.

The collection is available over at hexbrand.com.

KitGuru Says: I do quite like the sleek white of the Stormtrooper case, but facing facts, the fan-favourite Vader takes the cake in his signature black. It’s a shame these haven’t been extended to Android models, however it’s understandable given the vast amount of designs the company would have to cater for. Which is your favourite case?
