One of the most exciting game announcements at E3 this year was undoubtedly ‘A Way Out'. The game comes from the creators of Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, except this time, there is a little more action involved as you and a friend attempt to escape prison and evade capture in a co-op adventure. At the time, it was announced that A Way Out would release in 2018, but it seems that may have changed.
According to an EA internal mailing list leak that made its way on to Reddit, A Way Out is no longer due out next year. According to a marketing roadmap, the game is being labelled as “one of the most anticipated games of 2019”, with no mention of the previously announced 2018 release window.
Interestingly enough, the ‘executive summary' shows that the game received plenty of hype following its reveal. However, while EA deems its director, Josef Fares, as a positive due to his personality and passion, there is a curious note saying that EA needs to “watch out for controversy”.
The leak also places ‘December 7th' as a big moment on the marketing roadmap. This happens to be the same date that Geoff Keighley's ‘The Game Awards' takes place, we usually get some reveals during the show, so it seems like A Way Out might make an appearance.
KitGuru Says: I'm looking forward to this game, though the fact that it may not come out next year as previously thought is a bit of a downer.
