AMD will release Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition in December

It has been two years since AMD doubled down on driver support and began rolling out Radeon Software: Crimson Edition. In 2016, the company decided to stick with Crimson for a bit longer, launching Radeon Software Crimson Relive. Now this year, AMD is going to start rolling out its next generation of Radeon Software ‘Adrenaline Edition'.

With Radeon Software Adrenaline Edition, AMD will be continuing its commitment to release major driver updates annually, as well as timely driver updates to coincide with major game releases. According to AMD, Radeon Software Crimson Edition (2015) received the highest user satisfaction rating of any AMD software ever, while Crimson Relive Edition maintained a 90 percent user satisfaction rating for 12 months in a row. AMD will be hoping to continue that streak with Adrenalin Edition.

There is not much else known about the Adrenalin Edition update at this point. However, the teaser video above does say that we should see it launch in December. Hopefully this driver release will bring some extra optimizations to help bring a performance boost to some of AMD's newer graphics cards.

KitGuru Says: I've had limited experience with Crimson ReLive Edition this year, though I did use Crimson Edition heavily throughout 2016. Are many of you currently using an AMD GPU? What are you hoping to see AMD bring to the table with its Adrenalin Edition software?

  1. Can I state from the start I only use AMD/ATI graphics cards. And will continue to do so.
What I would like from this new release is proper driver installs. The old system that AMD used was just appalling. No matter how many times you did updates the very next time you resarted your machine it would say you neeeded to update your drivers. If it was one PC that did this I would say the problem was with me. However it happens still to this day on every single PC I run. I filed issues many times and did not once get any help or even a single reply.
    Fix that problem please AMD.

  2. And that is why i went to Nvidia in 2011, the driver support was and still is much batter, no matter the hardware, the software was the reason AMD was way behind in high end games, it took AMD 7 years to realize that drivers must be updated constantly to support the cards moving forward, and i am looking forward to see if the AMD can finally compete with Nvidia in high end next year, until that time comes, i’m sticking with Nvidia’s long term commitment to their hardware.
Oh and if you want an example of this, gtx 560 ti can still run modern games, sure you have to lower the settings to play at 1080p but a card like R6970 cant even run most games properly without glitching or red stripes in game and it IS a driver problem (like The Division).

  3. yea im cool story bro im callin bullshit … go on triple a games forumns and everyone is bitchin about nvidea drivers and yet i get amd drivers at game launch and they work perfect and no my comp never asks for an update after i install you are just a fan boi

  4. I would love to see VSR support for Ultrawide monitors, I miss being able to sharpen everything up with it and while I know it would be a struggle to push beyond 3440×1440 with current hardware there are older games, I started playing through the Half Life series again recently, that and other more recent releases such as the Rogue Trooper Redux and Resident Evil titles would benefit from higher resolutions, fake or not.

  5. in one of my comps i have an hd6870 and that plays all modern titles NO problem, you have hardware issues or you have no idea about building a pc like factoring whether things will work together properly.

  6. I stated facts and tests, and you just barely wrote some angry things, unlike you i can afford to buy hardware and test it, i don’t depend on forums. I guess fanboys will always be blinded by their own rage, i personally like to try all the options before i declare my personal winner.

  7. Then read again what i wrote amd has problems with some titles (not all) and if you dont belive me … run “The Division” and you will see what im talking about, i posted my tests with different hardware not just something i made up…

  8. again you are a fan boy who doesnt know how to peak an tweak , you are a set it forget lil fanboi facts

  9. the division is a shit show horrid title try again
