The latest additions to Sony PlayStation's audio product line are the new Pulse Elite wireless headset and the Pulse Explore wireless earbuds. Now available, both deliver immersive audio that complements the gaming experience on the PS5 and PlayStation Link-enabled devices such as the PS5, PC, Mac, and the PlayStation Portal. Additionally, it is also compatible with Bluetooth-enabled smartphones and tablets.
The Pulse Elite headset features planar magnetic drivers, which supports the PS5 console's Tempest 3D Audio. When used with PlayStation Link, the planar drivers ensure that the output of the 3D audio algorithms is sent directly to the player's ear without any loss, distortion, or delay. To enhance your audio experience, Sony released its first wireless earbuds, the Pulse Explore, which also feature planar magnetic drivers.
The microphones in both headsets use AI Noise Rejection to filter out background noise. In addition, they also use PlayStation Link wireless audio technology to make it easy for you to switch between your devices.
The Pulse Elite wireless headset boasts a retractable, adjustable boom mic that extends from the left side of the headset. The mic mute can be managed using either the mute button on the DualSense controller or the mute button on the Pulse Elite headset. The LED on the boom mic indicates whether you are currently muted.
Both new Pulse audio devices support Mono Audio, and each comes with three audio presets: standard, bass, and shooter. Alternatively, you can customise up to three equaliser presets. Once you have adjusted these, they will be automatically carried over to other devices you connect, whether you use Bluetooth, PlayStation Link, or the 3.5mm audio jack.
In the box for the Pulse Elite wireless headset, you'll find a charging hook, which you can use to hang your headphones up to keep them out of the way.
