Devil May Cry director begins teasing his new game following last month’s DMC 5 leak

Just a few weeks ago, a huge Devil May Cry 5 leak was unearthed, promising a 2018 release date and a reveal at E3 this year. Aside from various gameplay elements, the leak also claimed that Hideaki Itsuno, the director of DMC 2, 3 and 4 was returning for this one. Now, Itsuno has taken to Twitter to announce that his secret new game is almost finished.

Over on Twitter, Itsuno posted the following message to fans and followers:

Following E3 2017, Itsuno apologized to fans for not having anything to show that year. It looks like in 2018 the story is going to be quite different. Capcom is currently in the process of bringing a Devil May Cry HD collection to the PC, so it seems like this year would be a prime time to release a new main game for the franchise.

If last month's leak turns out to be accurate, then we should see Devil May Cry 5 by or during E3 this year with a release date penned November. There might be some PS4 exclusivity going on, though that apparently won't stop the game from also coming to the PC.

KitGuru Says: Devil May Cry 5 hasn't been confirmed as Itsuno's secret project, but it seems likely. Hopefully it will win back fans of the series following the controversial DMC reboot.
