Last night, Geoff Keighley's annual ‘The Game Awards' show kicked off, bringing recognition to some of the best games of the year. Awards aren't the only reason to tune in though, as this year's show was also filled with announcements. One of the bigger announcements of the evening was PUBG's 1.0 release date.
We've known that the developers behind PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds wanted to hit version 1.0 and leave Early Access before the end of the year. Last night, they confirmed that the PUBG 1.0 update would go live on the 20th of December, featuring the new desert map ‘Miramar', which was detailed earlier this week.
If you want to check out the new map ahead of time, then you can hop on to the PUBG test servers starting from today and have access to it. Aside from the new map, PUBG's 1.0 update should hopefully also contain a variety of fixes and a boost to PC optimization for better performance across the board.
KitGuru Says: Have many of you been playing PUBG recently? Do you think the game is going to be ready to leave Early Access in just under two weeks time?
