In a KitGuru survey, you told us in no uncertain terms that WD RED was your HDD weapon of choice when it comes to populating NAS boxes. You've also told us plenty of times that you love Synology NAS devices. To help celebrate the WD RED Drive's 5th birthday, we've teamed up with WD and Synology to create the BIGGEST storage competition we've ever run!
Whether for NAS or DAS, KitGuru readers have told us (in no uncertain terms) that their brand preference for WD RED drives is significant. Specifically, when asked about their preferred drives for a DAS configuration, more than twice as many of you chose WD RED over its nearest competitor. When we asked you about your preferred drives for a NAS configuration, 63% more technology experts chose WD Red over the second placed drive*.
That brings us to the competition and the amazing prizes: Three lucky winners will be drawn at random on 22nd December. Each will receive a dual bay Synology DS216se NAS device which is as powerful and feature-rich as it is simple to use. the first name out of the hat will get the DS216se with a pair of 8TB WD RED PRO drives (a prize worth well over £500) and the two runners-up will get their NAS alongside a pair of WD RED 6TB drives (prizes worth over £300 each). That's 40TB of storage in one competition!
To enter, all you have to do is answer this simple question:-
What is the largest WD RED drive available today?
- 6TB
- 8TB
- 10TB
Email your answer to ‘[email protected]' using the subject line ‘Give me WD Red!'. Remember to include your name, a contact number and a link to your Facebook or Twitter profile. We try to limit multiple entries and bot entries this way.
If you need NAS drives immediately and can't wait to see if you win, head on over to eBuyer, Scan or Broadband Buyer and you could win £50 in Love2Shop vouchers for a limited period of time.
Standard KitGuru terms apply and all entries must reach us by 11:59 PM (UK time) on the 22nd of December 2017. Winners will be announced within 7 days of the closing date. All decisions made by KitGuru staff are final. There can only be one entry per reader.
KitGuru says: The winners will end up with a fantastic storage solution – good luck!
*In case you were wondering, the data quoted comes from an independent survey into 2,500 of our reader's storage preferences that was carried out by KitGuru on behalf of WD in 2017.
