Razer has announced its new line of Nommo speakers, aimed at delivering premium audio to gamers around the world. The cannon-shaped speakers come in three editions, the Razer Nommo, Razer Nommo Chroma and the Razer Nommo Pro.
“We created the Razer Nommo line as an ultimate entertainment speaker line for gaming, movies and music,” says Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder and CEO. “There is a common perception that gaming speakers don’t have quality audio. The Razer Nommo line changes that once and for all.”
The standard Razer Nommo set offers 2.0 speakers connected via USB. Sound is propelled by custom woven glass fiber 3-inch drivers and rear-facing bass ports, each controlled by a knob for bass and automatic gain. The Razer Nommo Chroma offers the exact same specifications, with the companies Chroma RGB lighting, offering 16.8 million colours at the base of each speaker.

The Razer Nommo Pro is the top tier 2.1 speaker system with Dolby Virtual Speaker technology, certified by THX. This comes with all the trimmings on the lower-tier models, such as Razer’s Chroma RGB lighting at the base of the two side speakers, as well as a control pod and a 6-inch subwoofer emblazoned with Razer’s intertwined snake logo.
Razer’s Nommo Pro offers multiple connections, such as USB, Optical, Bluetooth and a 3.5mm headphone jack. As the ‘Pro’ moniker suggests, this is in a different league to the other versions, offering a simulated 5.1 surround sound and positional accuracy to push gamers in the right direction.
All Razer Nommo products are available from January 9th 2018 on the Razer Store, coming to other stores later in the month. The standard Nommo sits at $99.99, the Nommo Chroma at $149.99 and the Nommo Pro at a whopping $499.99.
KitGuru Says: While the standard Nommo speakers cost a somewhat reasonable price, a $50 jump for Chroma seems a little absurd, not to mention the $500 price tag of the Pro. That being said, if the Pro truly does offer next level sound as Razer is touting, it’s hard to put a price on such an audio quality. What do you think of Razer’s new Nommo line of speakers?
Just a note: only the Razer Nommo Pro speakers have the tweeter.
