At CES today, we had the chance to catch up with the folks at Dell. We've already seen the company's early 2018 Alienware lineup but we also had a chance to check out some of the new XPS and Inspiron gear on show. Kicking things off is the impressive XPS 15, featuring AMD Vega graphics.
The XPS 15 2-in-1 comes with an incredible looking ‘Infinity Edge' display with very thin bezels. It's a 4K panel and under the hood you'll find an RX Vega M graphics chip to provide horsepower for various workloads including games. As a 2-in-1, you can fold the screen all the way back and use the laptop in tablet form. Dell has opted to primarily utilize USB Type-C ports in order to keep the body thin. There is also a 3.5mm headphone jack for audio.
Next up is the Dell XPS Tower Special Edition. It's a mid-tower PC powered by Intel's new 8th Gen processors. For graphics power, you can configure this system to feature up to a GTX 1080, so it can be compact and very powerful.
Finally, the Inspiron 5680 is another Dell desktop. This unit can be configured with a GTX 1060, 1070 or an RX 580 in order to power games and Virtual Reality titles. There are various storage options for HDDs and SSDs. Finally, you can cram up to 64GB of DDR4 2400Mhz RAM into this one. Obviously, everything will depend on your budget, but there are plenty of configuration options to suit various needs.
KitGuru Says: While the new XPS and Inspiron towers are fairly run of the mill, the new XPS 15 laptop seems very impressive. The display in particular looks incredible and with a Vega GPU powering it, it should be very capable machine.
