Red Dead Redemption 2 has been delayed again

It has been a good while since we last heard any new information on Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2. Back when the game was first announced, it was due out in ‘Fall 2017', it was later pushed to ‘Spring 2018', which would have meant a release in the first half of this year. However, it seems that Rockstar won't be able to meet that release window after all, with the game receiving a second delay.

Rockstar is a renowned developer, so while the delay might be disappointing, in the long run we can still expect a solid open-world title at the end of all this. Red Dead Redemption 2 will now be coming out on the 26th of October this year. This time around, Rockstar gave us a proper release date rather than a vague window, so hopefully this one will stick. In the meantime, we do have a few new screenshots to stare at:

Rockstar explained Red Dead Redemption 2's second delay in an announcement made this afternoon:

“We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26th 2018. We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.”

KitGuru Says: At this point, GTA V is still making enough money to fund Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2 development for as long as the studio needs. The delay is disappointing, but in the long run, it will hopefully be for the best. Once October has passed, hopefully we will start to hear about a PC version too.
